(Chris Helgren/Reuters) Connor, adopted by Cruise and his former wife, Australian actress Nicole Kidman, will play a young version of Smith. Despite his pedigree, he had to audition for the Columbia Pictures project, People said. "Tom is so proud of Connor," the magazine quoted a source as saying. "He's proud of him for really doing this on his own." Cruise and Kidman adopted two children during their marriage -- Connor and 15-year-old daughter Isabella. Cruise now has another daughter, two-year-old Suri, with his third wife, Katie Holmes. Kidman is expecting a baby with her country-star husband Keith Urban in July. Reuters/Nielsen
