LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Crime paid on the latest video chart, while excitement over the new "Indiana Jones" movie spiked sales for all three previous films in the adventure franchise, "Untraceable," a crime thriller starring Diane Lane, opened at No. 1 on the national DVD sales chart for the week ended May 18, and "Mad Money," a comedy about three women who decide to rob the Federal Reserve Bank, was the No. 1 rental.
"Untraceable" pipped the Denzel Washington movie "The Great Debaters" for the top spot on the Nielsen VideoScan chart.
The "Adventures of Indiana Jones" boxed set came in at No. 3, and its three films also made the top 20 on an individual basis. The fourth movie, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," opened in North American theaters just after midnight Thursday.
"Mad Money" came in at No. 4. The box office dud, which stars Diane Keaton, Katie Holmes and Queen Latifah, generated an estimated $7.3 million in revenue to take the top slot on Home Media Magazine's video rental chart for the week.
"Untraceable" followed at No. 2 with $6.9 million. "P.S. I Love You," the previous week's top rental, slipped to No. 3 with $5.9 million, while "Debaters" debuted at No. 4 with $5.5 million.
Disney's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" was the week's top Blu-ray Disc seller, most likely because of the theatrical opening of the fantasy's sequel, "Prince Caspian." "Untraceable" debuted at No. 2.
