Birth name: Philip Anthony Hopkins
Birth date: 31.12.1937

   Born to Richard Arthur and Muriel, Anthony Hopkins was a slow learner academically and an ungregarious child. Professionally, he started at the RADA and later joined the National Theatre under Sir Laurence Olivier.

He won two Emmy Awards, as Bruno Hauptmann in The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case (1976) (TV) and as Adolf Hitler in The Bunker (1981) (TV); and a Best Actor Academy Award as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs (1991).
